How can UK citizens show their COVID-19 vaccination proof for travel?

With the looming COVID-19 pandemic, countries had to devise ways and systems to show their vaccination status. Under the Department of Health and Social Care, the UK now has a more convenient way for its citizens to show the UK vaccination proof. Here is more into the system.

What Can You Use it For?

Proof of vaccination is now a requirement when you are travelling abroad. You need to get a negative pre-departure test before you can leave or enter another country. UK citizens can use this proof for travel.

How Can You Access Your Vaccination Status?

UK citizens can comfortably access their vaccination status proof on their NHS app. The app is conveniently operable from your desktop or mobile device as long as you are connected to the internet. As you embark on travelling, you need to register on the app before booking any international flight.

You must understand the difference between the NHS App and the NHS COVID-19 app. You only need to download the NHS App for free, and it will show your vaccination status. Note that you don’t need to talk to your general practitioner (GP) before using the app hence the convenience.

As time goes by, the UK will continue to enhance the NHS app so that you can see your COVID-19 test results. You can produce them at request while travelling or for work purpose

Different Ways to Get Your Vaccination proof

There are other different ways that you can use besides the NHS app. We only covered it first as it is the most convenient and effective. The other two methods are:

  • Checking the NHS website: UK citizens can get their proof of vaccination on the NHS website. You only need to register, get the login details, and print your proof as a PDF or document.
  • Calling 119: This works best for people without smartphones or tablets. You will call 119(COVID-19 response line), and a letter will be sent to you. It should get to your GP’s office within seven working days.
